On this weeks show I am excited to have one of the funkiest Breaks DJs in the business ‘Rennie Pilgrem’, providing an exclusive guest mix. He’s been a pioneer within the Breakbeat scene since it started in the early 90’s and has continued to DJ all over the world and wow a...udiences with his dance floor friendly funk-infused Breaks.
He's released records on City Of Angels, Chrysalis/EMI, China Records, Mob and Whole9yards to name but a few. He's collaborated with many top producers including legend Arthur Baker (on 'Like No Other', 'Hey Funky People' and ‘Face It’), BLIM (on that massive 'Eskimo' track and the equally huge ‘2Freaks’) and with Meat Katie (on 'Rubba' and 'Atmosphere'). Following on from the huge ‘Black Widow’, Rennie also decided it was time to go back into the studio with Uberzone and their follow-up ‘Cous Cous’ received support from the likes of everyone from the Plump DJ’s to Pete Tong and Sasha!
Currently Rennie is making headway into the world of TV and Film. He wrote the Title music to the Brit Film ‘The Football Factory’, and has written the music to a several ads/games including Sony Wipeout. He and his label have also had their music featured on American mega series CSI and Rennie’s music has been on several film trailers including Spiderman 3 and The Matrix. As well as concentrating more on music for TV, Rennie is currently working on his full first film score called ‘The Fix’ for some underground British Film makers and has also produced an album for electronic Turkish artist Oojami - An EP of electronic Funk called ‘Street Legal’ is Rennie’s latest release on TCR, with its follow up 'Street Legal 2' to drop in September 2010.
