-- REVIEW --

"Bring The Bass" - Mr. Bassline Junk-E is the newest and explosive EP to hit the shelves under the powerful machine that is 'Breakz R Boss Records'.

The Original has a decidedly old school sound with a refreshingly nu skool feel. It features pleasant spatterings of rasta vocals stabs and a memorable line from 'Dazed and Confused' and is Tied together with a wonderful little hook groovy phat bass, a dark funky vibe, and an ominous, foreboding presence.

Bartdon's remix is a solid remix amping up the funk factor a few degrees. It reminds me of the good old days when I was just getting into breakbeats and hunting like crazy to find tunes like these. It has some fine new additions from the original, and a great delivery of those into this funkadelic remix.

DRKWTR's remix is next up keeping true with the ominous, foreboding presence of the original and dark funky vibe. With a strong techy and progressive structure, it seeks to build itself from beginning to the end, where it brings down the final blow on those not expecting it.

Javi R amps up the intensity level quite a bit with a face melter of a remix. Another tune with a decidedly old school vibe with a nu skool feel, Javi R 'brings the bass' in the form of wicked squelching, pumping sawtooths.

Tripwave's remix - Rounds out The EP with a well deserved 4x4 feel. It features a wonderful chug, a bouncy groove, and great production about it. This is a for sure dancefloor pleaser for all- and is bound to get the booty shaken'… all the booty.

Growing up in the 80's in small town Ontario, Canada, Mr. Bassline Junk-E grew fond for the funkier and early classic raps with flowing MC's and breakbeat patterns. Moving to western Canada in his mid 20's, he ran into a new and intriguing sound which was called Canadian Funky Breakbeats and Funky Florida Breakbeats, which he grew to love and began to push! In early 2000, bringing his love for breakbeats & bass to a higher level, he jumped in the studio with a handful of bootlegs before moving on to his own production in 2002. In 2008, with brother Bass Charger, they formed "The Breakbeat Raiders". Mr.BLJ-E has 4 releases on the Calgary Bass Junkies compilations and recently signed his 1st original release to Rapid Fire Records. in 2009, his track " Static " was signed for an Iphone game called IGLOWDOWN (out early 2010) & his bootleg "Dreamer" was remixed by international artists. 2010 his remix was the 1st release on Breakz R Boss Records. Stay tuned in 2011, the sky is the limit...
