Eight:Ball is the breaks project of producer Seb Taylor & vocalist Natasha Chamberlain. Seb is better known in the breaks scene for his Digitalis project having released tunes on Sinister, Matsuri & Sound of Habib. Digitalis has a darker & more techy sound while Eight:Ball brings Natasha's vocals into the mix, taking the overall production to a different level. This different level is in full effect on Preconception, a tightly arranged bass bubbler with snappy drums & trippy pads all topped off with Natasha’s vocal. A tasty chunk of nu skool breaks suitable for dancefloors, Ipods & radio shows worldwide.
The first remix comes courtesy of tweeking wonder kid, Bob Kickflip. Taking time out from his busy DJing & production schedule, this Sheffield bad boy twists Preconception into a low slung groover filled with intricate drums & mind bending sonics. One for the dancefloor fo’ sure.
Last, but not least comes a minimal tech house remix by Metroboy, aka Ben Ervine aka Benny form Ben & Lex. Having released tunes & remixes on Plasma Digital, Ape & VIM records, Metroboy turns in a ten minute sexy bleeper for Big Square. Filled with squeaks, bleeps & swooshes, Metroboy’s remix slowly builds & builds into a cacophony of beats, clicks, vocals & pounding bass.
