We are delighted to have Soul Of Man return to Manchester to grace the decks at Sound Control this August after what was one of our finest events last summer. Together with the amazing NineLives The Cat flying over from the US, this is going to be a great summer party.

SOUL OF MAN -
...Having set up Finger Lickin’ Records in the late nineties it wasn’t long until they had a string of breakbeat classics under their belt; ‘Love & Hate’, ‘Between the Eyes’ and ‘Gonna Keep On’, became a staple in every DJ’s box with a unique sound that attracted other like minded producers to join forces with the Finger Lickers. The Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts, A-Skillz, Lee Coombs and The Drumattic Twins soon became part of the collective as their sound helped shape a whole generation of music makers. It’s a little known secret that without Justin and Jem a whole chapter in the history of dance music would never have existed.

NineLives The Cat -
...Originating from Australia has lived and worked all over this good planet including the UK London and Brighton though now resides in Brooklyn NY. With a new base setup NineLives continues working on new projects daily either remixing, emceeing colabs and originals.
This year has seen the release of 3 new vocal colabs. "Aint No Disco Music" with Kelevra for Passenger records. "Get Crazy" with Costello for Boxon Recs and the most recent being "Everytime" with Illest Collective on the new German imprint Roca Records. Upcoming releases for soon will see a mashup for Manmade in September , a NineLives single for GroundLevel Breaks around october time and yet another vocal colab with Costello for the end of the year. A full length album named "Are We Dead Yet?" was also released last year through Diverted Traffic.
As of the recent move to New York NineLives has taken things into more of a live direction after playing a bunch of Manhatten and Brooklyn shows for KnifeFight and Rad Out parties with positive reactions all over. Focusing more on emceeing live over the sets and generally playing awesome balls out party music has consolidated NineLives The Cat ever more so as one to look out for!
