The Gulf Gate Project are back in action this week with their latest release 2 Choices. The realease comes complete with remixes by Russian heavyweights Quadrat Beat as well as fellow Florida breakbeat producing legend DJ 303. The Original Mix by The Gulf Gate Project begins the journey on the dark side with a gritty bassline and poses a difficult question... that's where the 2 Choices come in. As always The Gulf Gate Project bring big kicks and snares and craft original synths and sound effects to get the dance floor moving in the right direction. About halfway in, a rock guitar is layered in as the choice has seemingly been made and the track takes the dancefloor on a very uplifting ride through the second half of the track as all of a sudden the b-line sits right into the groove and the whole story really comes together. All in all, The Gulf Gate Project craft a full on journey in this one that really works on the dancefloor.

The real stand-out on the EP is the Quadrat Beat remix. Though less story driven, Quadrat Beat take the essence of the story, shine it up, and give it a new HUGE b-line that straight up works out the subwoofers... big peak time party track here.

Not to be overlooked is the DJ 303 remix with an equally souped-up b-line... this one jams nicely on the dancefloor as well. The sawtooth bass is serious on this one so be sure to give it a listen if that is your cup of tea... or should I say BASS?
